The PNTC is excited to announce that center director Dr. Jim Dowling, MD, PhD was the recipient of the Sidney Carter Award in Child Neurology at the 2026 American Academy of Neurology (AAN) meeting in Chicago, IL. The award is given in recognition for outstanding achievements in child neurology and is considered one of the top honors in the field.
Dr. Dowling received the award in recognition of his work on establishing disease pathomechanisms and developing transformative therapies for rare neurogenetic diseases. His lecture at the meeting was titled “Treating rare neurogenetic disorders in the new era of precision genomic medicines."
