PNTC is proud to share an exciting achievement from Dr. Defne Amado!
Defne Amado, Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, has received a Career Development Award from the American Society for Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT). This award will support the development of a novel strategy to enhance the on-target effects of AAV-mediated gene therapies while reducing unintended side effects and importantly, enabling the therapy to be turned off when it’s no longer needed.
This innovative work has the potential to make genetic medicines safer and more effective, with broad applications across the neurodegenerative disease spectrum and beyond.
